Common Pleas

The Miami County Court of Common Pleas, General Division, has jurisdiction to decide felony criminal cases, civil cases where the amount in controversy exceeds $500, and domestic relations cases involving divorce, dissolution, and legal separation, occurring within Miami County, Ohio.

Judges in the General Division

Two judges currently serve in the General Division, Judge Jeannine N. Pratt and Judge Stacy M. Wall.  They preside over jury trials and trials to the court.

Magistrates

Two magistrates currently serve in the General Division, Magistrate Christopher Gee and Magistrate Janna Parker. They handle domestic relation cases, including post-decree motions, civil protection orders, stalking and sexually oriented offense protection orders, and have an order of reference for civil and criminal cases.

Court Administrator / Jury Commissioner

The court administrator, under the direction of the judges, is responsible for the non-judicial functions of the court, including financial, statistical, employment, and public records matters, as well as jurors.

Adult Probation Department

The Miami County Common Pleas Court Adult Probation Department provides supervision for individuals placed on community control by the court.

Building Security

Security for the Safety Building, which houses Common Pleas Court and other government offices, is provided by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.
